Hello and welcome to South Bay Montessori School!

We are so pleased that you are interested in a Montessori education for your child, since we believe that this is the best preparation for the future. South Bay Montessori offers an educational program that fosters the growth and development of each child as well; not just cognitive development, which is crucial, but social and emotional development. The children are encouraged to be confident, independent thinkers, aware of their potential to change the world, each in their own way.

Montessori classrooms are tranquil environments, welcoming and comfortable, with beautifully crafted materials that can be tailored to fit so many learning styles. Children are motivated to explore, dream, accomplish and present new ideas. They are empowered from a young age to challenge themselves and think outside the box. Initial failure at a task, and the subsequent repetition required to master it, are celebrated as natural steps in the progression to really understanding a topic or developing a skill.

Community is an important aspect of South Bay Montessori. It is readily apparent from the peer teaching that takes place in our mixed age classes to the dynamic partnership of teacher, parent, and child that establishes a consistent Montessori framework for an “Education for Life”. Each child is encouraged to be an observer, a teacher and a role model.
